My Opinion- Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Joss Whedon has done it again.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is a bonafide hit. I've watched every episode and I love the characters and the premise of the show, which focuses on the more human side of the Marvel Universe, the way the Marvel One-Shots do.
For some folks, that's not quite enough.
I've heard complaints that there aren't enough appearances from the Marvel U, that the show is too disconnected from it. Basically, saying it doesn't feel like a Marvel show.
First, it IS a Marvel show, run by the guy who brought us Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Serenity and wrote and directed a little blockbuster called the Avengers. Joss Whedon knows how to tell a story and run a TV show; His body of work shows this. Every episode so far has been solid, well paced, self contained and exciting. This Tuesday's episode is going to pick up where Thor: The Dark World leaves off and explore how it affects the world and Agent Coulson's team. I, and a few million people willingly follow where he leads and Joss and Company hasn't  led us wrong yet.
Secondly, the show is called AGENTS of S.H.I.E.L.D. It's focusing on Agent Coulson and his team dealing with the weirdness of the Marvel Universe, and the fallout from the Avengers film. It's not about a team of superheroes, but a team of ordinary people facing impossible situations and relying on their wits and courage to overcome them. That's makes them Big Damn Heroes in my book and more interesting to watch. Now, some people will point to the CW's Arrow and mention how Black Canary and  Deadshot have appeared on the show, but, again, Arrow is about Oliver Queen, who is considered a superhero, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is not. Besides, Colbie Smolders and Samuel L. Jackson have both had cameos on the show. Would it be cool if Marvel heroes made appearances on the show? Yes, it would. But, who's to say they don't already have that in the works? There was a recent announcement that  Netflix will have four Marvel heroes, one of them Daredevil, in a miniseries on the network. What if they preview that or all of them by tying into an episode of AOS? Just sayin'...
Ultimately, AOS works. I don't see anything wrong with how Joss and Co. are producing the show and they're bringing the goods every week. Agents Coulson, May, Skye, Fitz, Simmons and Ward keep me coming back every week because we learn more about them and the cinematic world of the Marvel Universe they live in...And I wanna find out just how Colson came back from the dead..
